MOD fells 7 trees to replace fence
The Ministry of Defence have felled 7 mature lime and plane trees on Plymouth Hoe so they can replace a fence.
The trees were in a conservation area so permission was requested by Plymouth City Council who approved the move. This area already has well below average canopy cover and no details of mitigation planting have been shared.
Last year, local people staged a fantastically creative protest by the trees but sadly, the MOD were unwilling to change their plans.
