26 trees to be felled in Coventry for new cycle path

Coventry council will cut down trees for a new cycleway despite huge public opposition to the plan. The 26 trees on Clifford Bridge Road will be axed to make way for a two-way track, with work set to start next year.
This is despite thousands signing a petition against the plan and hundreds turning out recently to break the record for the highest number of tree huggers at one go.
